This series of 5 photos I am submitting are from a shoot I did for a wildlife refuge called Turpentine Creek. They have a fund raiser called Safari Days where they auction off art from local artists, as well as holding a small competition for each category. I did this last year and took first place in the photography category, but more importantly, my photos sold and money was made for the wildlife refuge.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I live for animals - how I do as much as I can for them. Not only when I work full-time as a vet nurse or animal care coordinator for an animal shelter, but I also foster and help with any events and fundraisers I can. I have done this my whole life and will continue to do so. For they are my children and I love them.
ALL the profits will be donated to the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. They are a struggling organization that do so much with so little and I want to do everything I can to help them.
I hope you enjoy these magnificent creatures as much as I do
I love this image and I love Turpentine Creek! - I visited there in 2003 while on vacation with my family. The animal's stories broke my heart. My sister, brother in law and I visited twice as we were motivated to take the others who missed the first trip.
My sister even volunteered free legal services to them as she was so moved by what they do there.
I took some shots, but not nearly enough and would love to go back now I have my DSLR. We were in the area for a family reunion and I am hoping we'll do one there again soon.
